This release pulls together the Jensen Sportag remix of the title track, as well as the band's top two winners of their "Yes And No" remix contest from fall '06, rounded out by "Let The Dance Begin", a rare track from their first self titled independent release. The band ultimately decided to reconvene and return to their DIY roots with The Colors in the Wheel meticulously crafting the most interesting and engaging album of their career. The ride begins with the crackling lift-off of "Turn Me Around" which is created solely with guitar sounds! The percussion and strings are all computer manipulated guitar. The Teutonic electro-stomp of "Yes And No" takes us to the dance floor and then the ride continues through the lost superhero theme "Do You Want To Fight Me?" and the moving, daydreamy centerpiece, "Genevieve's Wheel," then dances off with the T.Rex-goes-to-the-moon pop of "Pink Champagne" and the affecting lullaby, "Go To Sleep." Strean's lyrics have also evolved. She is not afraid to take the listener to an emotionally dark place but always pulls them out at the end

Songs For Superheroes______________________________________
2004 Mono_Fi CD/EP

The lead track was written with none other than JJ Abrams, the man behind the TV shows ‘Alias’ and ‘Lost’. JJ found BBS on iTunes and became a fan. He contacted us with a crazy idea- do you want to take the theme to Alias and do something with it? We had no idea what that ‘something’ would be, but we jumped at the chance. The fruit of the labor is ‘Fighting For Love’- we used elements from the Alias theme and wrote this new song around it. This EP also includes two songs that were originally written for Angelina Jolie’s Tomb Raiders, but never used (‘Save the World’ and ‘My Heart’). “William’ is about Annette’s husband Kirk and ‘Sister’ is about, you guessed it, her sister. Such heroic characters could only belong on a collection called ‘Songs For Superheroes’. Also of note, SFS includes Kip’s first ever music video.

Big Beautiful Sky____________________________________________
2003 BMG (UK/Ireland) + MCA (North America) CD

We were blessed/cursed to be releasing our first big album on not one, but two major labels at the same time- MCA for North America and BMG UK for the rest of the world. Dividing our time between the US and England was a dream come true, but also exhausting. We were proud of our bright shiny record and especially loved the art direction of London’s Blue Source. Some of the songs were old standards for the Nashville crowd by the time this was released and some were brand new- but all had been given a new treatment. But, don’t be thinking we sold out to ‘the man’- we did this record the same way as all of our previous recordings…lovingly handmade in Tony’s basement studio. The exception being a couple of songs mixed with the amazing Steve Fitzmaurice at Pink Floyd’s private studio (a very decadent luxury) and some brilliant string arrangements by the High Llamas’ Sean O’Hagan and Marcus Holdaway. Big Beautiful Sky is now out of print but available though our website- so get it while supplies still last!

This was our major label introduction to North America. Released under the Mono-Fi logo but through MCA, it is noticeable as the only place to find new versions of ‘Run Annie Run’ and ‘Illumine’, which were not included on ‘Big Beautiful Sky’. This was the intro for us to the English market and came initially as a limited 10” vinyl release. Done up in a very old Nashville-centric style. We wanted people to think they were about to hear some old school country record (coming, as we did, out of the deep south), but then get this super modern digital pop! This has become one of those Ebay rarities for the uber-fans. Named as ‘Q’ magazines Single of the Month for November 2002
